Somebody asked:
My friend is impossible to buy for, but because he plays squash, for part of his present, I’m thinking of getting him some squash balls. He uses the single yellow dot ones.
What I’d like to know is if they’re prone to bursting or not? He’s mentioned this has happened in the past, so I was thinking I could get him a little stockpile if it happens a lot.
If it’s a rare incident, then I better think of another present!
Thanks everyone!

You can’t stockpile them. We only get 2.

Buy him a load of them. Yellow spot are the fastest squash balls and normally used by more profficient players, they therefore get more harsh treatment, consequently they burst more, it’s normal and an occupational hazard. Your friend is obviously a good squash player so he would appreciate the gift.

Buy him the white ones and speed him up a bit,i used to burst the yellow ones as well as the whites, but the whites are generally preferred by the diehards.

Its just general wear and tear no matter what the colour, after all they are getting smashed against 4 walls every few seconds !

This type of ball are good quality, won’t split and make a nice present. I advise these because they are good value too:
I hope this helps!

I usually use the Dunlop single dot ones and burst one every two months or so.
A pack of 3 would be nice to have as a gift.
Good luck.
